Thempera, (Sjöfn): immaculately trained and very rideable mare with unmistakable FEI potential and talent. Everything about her training from day one has been top notch, kind and classical.  Bred by the top national  Oldenburg breeder Mo Swanson, Sjöfn started her first year in recognized competition (2018) as a four-year-old at Training level ridden by a 15-year-old girl and her trainer, with scores in the low 70's.  2019, she continued her dressage training, shown First level with scores in the low 70's. She was Region 8 Reserve Champion at First level Open with USDF Gold medalist Jeff Lindberg riding. She continued in training with Lindberg through 2019-2020, and is now in Central New York at Easy Gait Farm where her current rider and trainer, Jana Wagner  qualified her for  second level Region 8 championships at HITS in Saugerties, NY Sept 16-20 where she placed eighth in Open competition championships.

This mare comes in a small package, perfect for a petite rider. She is the daughter of the European star stallion Tailormade Temptation, the sire of the record-breaking stallion Tomahawk, who sold at auction for 800,000 euros. The quality of her sire's movement shines through in this mare, with both the athleticism of her sire and the quiet intelligence of her dam to become an FEI horse. She has a quiet, very sweet, affectionate, thoughtful and sensible demeanor.

Nothing has been rushed with her preparation: classical foundations, meticulous attention to barn manners and care, this mare is being brought along carefully and with attention to being a suitable mount for a serious adult amateur or young rider with national ambitions for the FEI ring.  She goes out on hacks around the farm, and works seriously and willingly in the menage.  She is good for the farrier and routine vaccinations with the veterinarian. She load and trailers easily and well.

One might ask why this lovely horse is on the market.  She was selected by an elderly rider (who has a good eye but less realism) who rides a few times a week and goes to small shows once or twice a year. It became apparent after much hemming and hawing and denial of the vicissitudes of rider age that this was a horse to not be kept in the backwaters. This is a mare who is able to really be the horse of a lifetime for a more serious competitor with national FEI ambitions. She is amateur or junior friendly for an ambitious rider and is perfect for someone who is petite.  She has been shown by a 15 year old girl and two professionals, all with high scores and many victories, including her 2019 Region 8 Reserve Champion Open First Level. She settles in very well at shows and new surroundings, and has a real been there, done that attitude toward new surroundings.

This lovely mare is priced to sell and will make someone with serious dressage ambitions very happy in every way. The mare is currently located in New York State, but parties from requisite quarantine states for New York can arrange to have her brought to a farm in Pennsylvania for viewing and a trial.

Come see her at Saugerties in mid-September.More photos and this year's video available upon request.
