"Sjöfn" (barn name) is an immaculately started, sensibleand confident five-year-old mare.  Bred by the top national Oldenburg breeder (many years running) Maurine Swanson, Sjöfn started her first year in recognized competition (2018) as a four-year-old at training level ridden by a 15-year-old girl and her trainer, with scores in the low 70's.  This year, 2019, she continued her dressage training and was shown first level with scores in the low 70's again. At the end of the season, she was Region 8 Reserve Champion at First level Open. This mare comes in a small package, perfect for a petite rider.  She is the daughter of the European start stallion Tailormade Temptation, the sire of the record-breaking stallion Tomahawk, who sold at auction for 800,000 euros. The quality of her sire's movement shines through in this mare, and she shows both the athleticism of her sire and the quiet intelligence of her dam to become an FEI horse. She has a quiet, thoughtful and sensible demeanor and a very sweet personality. Nothing is being rushed with her preparation for the future: excellent foundations, meticulous attention to barn manners and care, this mare is being brought along carefully and with attention to being a suitable mount for a serious adult amateur or young rider with national ambitions. Complete x-rays were taken in advance of putting her on the market by the owner in early October 2019 so a buyer.  She is good for the farrier and routine vaccinations with the veterinarian, and trailers well. Currently at Bishops Gate Farm in Ballston Spa, New York.People may ask why a lovely horse like this is on the market.  She was selected by an elderly rider (who has a good eye but less realism) who rides a few times a week and goes to small shows once or twice a year.  It became readily apparent that this was a horse to not keep in the backwaters, but who is able to really be the horse of a lifetime for a more serious competitor. This lovely mare is priced to sell and will make someone with serious dressage ambitions very happy in every way.
